Votive San Salvadore's Church
(Church
of St Spas)
is placed between the Pila Gate and the Franciscan monastery. Decision
to build the Church was made by Dubrovnik senate in 1520 as a token of
gratefulness towards The Holly Good, after spearing the City of the
ruthless earthquake. Build by Korculas’ master Petar Andrijić in the
period from 1520 to 1528, the church stayed undamaged in 1667
earthquake, so preserving its original appearance, the church is a true
example of Dubrovnik renascence building. |
